Florida Association of Business Tax Officials

Welcome

The Florida Association of Business Tax Officials, Inc. is a non-profit professional association meeting the educational and informational needs of municipal and county business tax officials throughout Florida. The organization was established in 1988 as the Florida Association of Occupational Licensing Officials, Inc. by the Bay Area Chapter. As statewide interest grew the Central Florida, Gold Coast, Big Bend, Palm Beach, and Treasure Coast Chapters were formed.

Effective January 2007 the Florida Legislature changed the name of Occupational Licenses to Local Business Taxes and in order to maintain consistency with the statutory changes , the Florida Association of Occupational Licensing Officials (FAOLO) changed its name to the Florida Association of Business Tax Officials (FABTO).

Our Mission

To provide a professional association where business tax officials may cooperate and consider matters of mutual concern, including the exchange of ideas and information among the municipalities and counties from throughout the state of Florida.

President's Welcome

Welcome to Florida Association of Business Tax Officials, Inc. (FABTO). FABTO is an organization that offers Florida Business Tax professionals an opportunity for education through the annual conference. In addition to the conference there are local chapters who host meetings via telephone conference or in person. Some chapters offer workshops in addition to meetings. This is a great way to network and exchange business tax information. Our website offers a “Community Discussion Forum” section which allows you to post a question to the membership. You will find that all members have valuable information to share.

I am happy to serve as your President the next two years and most importantly happy to serve with the Board of Directors. We are here to answer questions and hear your concerns. We welcome your participation and your input. We think this is key to the growth of the organization.

We hope that you will visit the FABTO website frequently and that you gain information and/or share information on the “Community Discussion Forum”. You will notice that newsletters, notices regarding educational opportunities and conference updates will be uploading throughout the year. Remember to look at the photo section to view photos of past conferences and chapter meetings.

We encourage you to be an active member of your local chapter and to get involved. We would like to see you grow in the profession of Business Tax Officials. Please feel free to reach out to any member of the state board or local chapter board. We are all here to help one another.

I look forward to seeing each of you at the 31st Annual FABTO Conference in May.

Sincerely,

Angela Lester, MBTO
FABTO President
