How to Register

Once you have registered as a new user on FABTO's website and paid your FABTO membership dues you are able to log-in and access the user "Navigation Menu". Listed on the left of the screen is menu link "Register for the Annual Conference". Please be sure to complete this registration prior to purchasing your conference ticket. It is very important that we know your attendance preferences while we are planning the conference.

This year's FABTO Conference "Meet and Greet Reception" is being hosted by FABTO's State Board of Directors. Not only is it a great icebreaker, a terrific opportunity to reconnect with friends and acquaintances, exchange information, share ideas and network with fellow business tax professionals from throughout the state but it's the perfect way to kick-off the conference! Reservations

A block of rooms have been reserved for FABTO conference attendees at Hilton Resort at the Walt Disney World Resort for the period of May 29, 2018 - June 1, 2018.

The 2018 conference hotel room rates start at $126.00 single/double per night. However, once the room block is full additional rooms may not be available at the same rate or at all. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Reservations must be made by May 8, 2018 to ensure room availability and receive the reduced conference room rate. When making reservations by phone, conference attendees must mention they are attending FABTO's Educational Conference using the code "FAB" to receive the conference room rate.

There will be NO resort fee; each guest room includes complimentary wireless internet and self-parking is at the rate of $10.00 per day (a 40% discount from the regular $17/ day fee).
To qualify for tax-exempt status, the hotel requires a copy of the city/county tax-exempt certificate at check-in and using a city/county check or credit card for payment. A personal check or credit card, to be reimbursed by your agency, does not qualify for tax-exempt status.

Please note, our Meeting & Convention ticket discounts are for attendees and their guests who purchase their tickets in advance, they are not available for purchase to the general public and are not sold at our theme park ticket windows.

Disney FastPasses:
The ticket prices listed on our collateral and ticket store reflect any applicable discounts and include tax. Since these Meeting & Convention partial-day and multi-day tickets are not available for purchase at our Theme Park Ticket Windows, your attendees will need to purchase them through this custom website or in advance through our Disney Ticket Reservation Center at 407-566-5600. All of our Meeting & Convention tickets include the ability to pre-select up to three FastPasses (for details on how to pre-select FastPasses please visit our Disney Microsite.

Statewide Certification Program

The FABTO Statewide Certification Program was instituted as one of the many tools FABTO utilizes to accomplish educational goals. FABTO encourages all of its members to participate in the program and looks forward to providing members the educational opportunities needed in order to obtain certification and remain educated on all details regarding Local Business Taxes in Florida.

FAU/IOG Certificate of Completion-Level I

This Continuing Education Unit (CEU) certificate is issued by the Florida Atlantic University Institute of Government and will be awarded upon attendance at a FABTO Annual Educational Conference and will reflect the number of educational hours attended at said conference.

Certified Business Tax Official (CBTO)-Level II

This certificate will be awarded after the member has met the following requirements:

Re-Certification - Certified Business Tax Official (CBTO)

Re-certification requires attendance at one full day of any annual conference within three (3) consecutive conferences. For purposes of re-certification "one full day" is defined as a minimum of a full single days conference attendance at a conference. For clarification a "full single day" excludes attendance at the opening and closing half days of the conference.

Re-certifications will expire at the end of the month three years from the issue date.

Senior Business Tax Official (SBTO)-Level III

This certificate will be awarded after the member has met the following requirements.

Master Business Tax Official (MBTO)-Level IV

This certificate will be awarded after the member has met the following requirements.

Scholarships

Scholarship applications for the conference registration fee will be available from your chapter president and must be submitted to the chapter for review at least 90 days prior to the conference.

Scholarships will be based on available funds at the chapter and state levels and first time applicants will receive priority. The following items will be taken into consideration:

  • You must be a paid member of FABTO at present and for at least one previous year
  • Attend 60% or more local chapter meetings
  • Service to FABTO (Officer, Board of Directors, Committees, etc.) at the chapter or state level
  • Applicant's efforts to obtain financing from their municipality
  • Applications for scholarships must be submitted at least 90 days prior to start date of conference
